2008 Summer Competitive Camp

FEES:
- $375 PER PERSON - Visa, MasterCard, Discover and bank draft forms available in application package
- $230 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE BEFORE 10 MAY is required by Austin College
- No partial registrations or commuters allowed; fencers attending any part of the camp training will be required to pay the full cost of the camp.
- Cash, Check or Credit Card require form completion - make checks payable to FENCING INSTITUTE OF TEXAS
- Cost of camp includes all meals, lodging and training for the week
- $35 refundable room key deposit
- The room key deposit must be cash or check made payable to Austin College and will be collected the first day of camp
- The room key deposit will be returned when the camper turns in their room key the last day of camp
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:
- Check-in is from 12 - 2 PM on Sunday, June 15th. Fencers should eat lunch prior to check-in; the first meal will be dinner on the 15th.
- Check-out is from 9-10 AM on Saturday, June 21st. The last meal served will be breakfast on June 21st.
- Fencers arriving by air should fly into DFW Airport. We will make arrangements to pick you up and take you back. It takes approximately 2 hours to drive to Sherman from DFW. Please allow enough time for travel when making flight schedules.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
- All competitive fencers (foil, epee and sabre) participating in the Summer National Championships - come prepared and ready to train
- Competitive fencers not going to Summer Nationals are encouraged to attend to get a head start on next season

WHAT TO BRING:
- Electric fencing equipment and proper fencing attire
- Plenty of extra t-shirts (this is a working camp with endurance training)
- Swim wear
- Running/track shoes and exercise clothing (remember, it gets HOT in Texas!)
- Bedding (sheets, pillows, light blankets or sleeping bag)
- Linens (towels, washcloths) and toiletries
- Change for vending machines and laundry in dormitories
- Extra food and drinks for evening snacks - there are no convenience stores near the campus. Some fencers like to bring cash to order pizza delivery.
- Frisbee, football, basketball, or games
PERSONAL VEHICLE POLICY:
- Campers who bring their own cars to camp are NOT allowed to transport campers under the age of 18 in their personal vehicle without written permission of the parent or legal guardian of the other camper.
- Campers under the age of 18 are NOT allowed to transport other campers (not even siblings).
- Fencers are not allowed to leave Austin College campus at any time without the express permission of the coaches.
- Fencers who violate these policies or rules of the college, USFA or host clubs shall be expelled and no refund shall be given.

These camps are for beginner to intermediate youth fencers ages 10-17. All equipment is provided. Students should register early!
Camp hours: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
Fees: $190 per camp for FIT members (this includes the $50 deposit)
$250 per camp for non-FIT members
(this includes the $50 deposit)
$ 10 per day early drop off or late pick up
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due one week prior to the start of the camp. FIT reserves the right to cancel any camp that does not have 6 or more fencers signed up by the deposit deadline.
FIT Summer Day Camps are held at the FIT facility: 11482 Luna Road, Suite 100, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234
Class size is limited to 16. Snacks and lunches are included.
These sessions are for beginner to intermediate fencers ages 10 - 15. Older and younger students are permitted with permission of the instructor.
